..Below normal temperatures return to Alberta..
An Arctic ridge is currently over the Yukon and northwest
Territories set to slump into Alberta early this week. Temperatures
have begun to fall in Northern Alberta as cold Arctic air begins to
move south. Arctic air will move into Central Alberta late Monday
And remain in place into Wednesday.
As the cold front moves through most areas will see 2 to 4
centimetres of snow and winds of 20 to 30 km/h. Extreme wind chills
of minus 40 or less are possible through much of northern and
Eastern Alberta Monday night and Tuesday. A wind chill warning is in
place for High Level and further warnings may be issued within the
next 24 hours. The public is advised to monitor future forecasts and
warnings as warnings may be extended.
Current model projections show the ridge moving off later this week
ending the cold snap.
